3 Gatlinburg Wineries You Need To Visit

We have to admit that we might be a bit biased about the fifth thing you can do when you visit Gatlinburg this October. However, we believe that staying at The Appy Lodge with us is the best thing you can do to guarantee a great trip with lots of relaxation at Gatlinburg’s finest home away from home. This local winery keeps the name of its wines focused on the Smokies’ beauty and history. Sugarland Cellars is situated near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park’s Gatlinburg entrance. It offers free tastings on a daily basis and the winery’s handcrafted wines are made right on site. They also have a great selection of gifts to look through also. Every year the winery also releases a limited-edition wine that features a label created by a local artist named Robert Tino. Part of the proceeds is donated to the Friends of the Smokies. Therefore, when you buy a bottle of wine it benefits the national park as well as making an excellent gift for either yourself or a loved one. If your sweetheart is coming with you on your stay us visit Sugarland Cellars before returning to the hotel for the night. Choose a chilled bottle of wine along with a couple of items from the cheese and wine room to take back o your hotel room to enjoy a pleasant romantic night in a king suite. When you visit the winery you can also pick up a Rocky Top Wine Trail passport. There are five local wineries included on the trail and after you visit the third one, you will be given a free souvenir wine glass. You will get another free gift if you visit all five of the wineries. Everybody loves free gifts and wine, so you definitely can’t go wrong!

  1. Little Bear Winery

This is one of the newest wineries in Gatlinburg and many people who have visited already love it. Along with Sugarland Cellars, they are included on the Rocky Top Wine Trail. They offer wine tasting 7 days per week, as well as Blackberry Cider and 100% Muscadine Grape Juice for anyone wanting to have an alcohol-free tasting experience. This is a family-friendly winery and easy to stop in when you are exploring Gatlinburg’s downtown area. So the next time you are in town, stop by and pick up a bottle of Muscadine, Sweet Watermelon, Blueberry Twist, or Grape Expectations. Also, don’t forget o get a couple of extra bottles for family and friends.

With more than five thousand 5-star reviews, you are guaranteed to have a great time when you get there and absolutely love their wines. The winery takes great pride in their wines being made with local fruits by local residents and served with southern hospitality by local friends.  They are always very happy to have both out-of-town guests and local stop by to taste their wines. Old Apple contains a blend of mulling spices and is a popular favorite during the holidays and fall. You can’t go wrong by choosing a bottle of Southern Red, Proper Peach, Strawberry Stomp, or White Knuckle Grape. They also offer a great selection of gifts that are ideal for treating a friend, family member, or yourself. When you are in town, enjoy their wines, and make sure to take a small taste of Tennessee with you so you can remember us after you are back home.
